Victor* and Emma* were a young couple who fought constantly. When Victor lost his job, they were kicked out of their home, and they knew it was time to make a change in their lives. They entered Family Promise of Ogden’s shelter program with their 1 year-old daughter and accepted counseling services, where they learned to communicate more effectively with each other. As they learned and grew together, they strengthened not only their confidence in their life skills, but also their relationship with one another. They learned how to provide both a safe and sustainable home for their daughter. Both parents found new jobs, and together, they found a private apartment within their budget. They experienced both the physical and emotional refuge that Family Promise can provide to families in need.
